Of course, you can do as I (and probably many others) do and mute the video or don’t click to watch. But sometimes you accidentally click or forget to mute. If you are like me, you might not enjoy the loud and sometimes annoying videos. So it’s even worse when you don’t expect the noise. While the videos are nicely made, they are always super colorful, rambunctious in a way, and often miss a certain aesthetic quality to them.
Take for example, Delish’s chocolate swirl fudge recipe. Like many food tutorials, the video features colorful text, loud music, and is all sped up. Obviously, these videos are meant to be quick so they don’t lose your attention which is why they are fast-forwarded and are noisy.
But there ARE relatively short AND really nice, peaceful recipe videos out there!
Enter Peaceful Cuisine on Youtube. This is the most soothing food tutorial I have ever seen. For those of you who are into ASMR, the video captures the sounds of glass clinking, chopping vegetables, and beans filling up a bowl. The videography and color is also super lovely. There is not music involved, just the sounds of cooking. For those who either have no idea what ASMR is or usually don't like it, check it out because you might actually love this.
There is no way you’d be taken by surprise by the video. It is just so beautiful. I seriously recommend people check out the YouTube channel, especially when you’re feeling stressed out or if you just enjoy some darn good food videography. Plus, the simple video is also very clear in its directions about how to make a latte or matcha pudding. The recipes are also vegan friendly!
Technically, not all his videos are ASMR. However, most of them are minimal and you still get to experience all the sounds of cooking as well as let your eyes take in the beauty of food preparation. He’s also began to film DIY videos, which isn’t in the same vein as his food videos but are also quiet calming.
